Vegas PBS debuts ‘Las Vegas Leaders’

Following the lead of Makers: Women Who Make America, Vegas PBS and the Women’s Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN) have teamed up to launch a new series called Las Vegas Leaders, profiling locals “who have made a significant contribution.” Women featured in the series so far include Barbara Buckley, Kathleen Ja Sook Bergquist, and Rozita Castillo. The online series premiered Feb. 26 and WRIN Director Joanne Goodwin says more are on the way. More information on the PBS website.

PS: Dr. Goodwin, if you’re looking for candidates, I humbly suggest Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada’s Annette Magnus; Christina Hernandez, director of the UNLV women’s center; and Gender Justice Nevada Director Jane Heenan.

  1. Yes! Those would be great candidates :) I am personally familiar with the latter two, and they do a great deal of service to Las Vegas.
